Use a quite place. Sit in a comfortable position.
Close your eyes.
It is best to breathe in and out through your nose. If you cannot then breathe through your mouth.
Listen to the beats.
Breathe in deeply and exhale. Breathe in relaxation and breathe out stress.
Keep breathing and relaxing.
Think of your body. Tell your body to be healthy.
Put your awareness on your breath at the tip of your nose.
Breathe in and out through the nose.
Continue to breathe naturally.
As thoughts come into your mind acknowledge them and bring your awareness back to your breathing.
As feelings arise accept them and move your awareness back to your breathing.
Keep your awareness on your breath at the tip of your nose.
Do that for a few or several minutes. Or as long as you can.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR IF YOU DO SMOKE
You wish to cease smoking right now!
However, you might find yourself smoking a bit along the way to quitting those cigarettes for good.
Use this video to delay smoking.
Do not play this video while smoking.
If you do smoke, stop before smoking and take a breath.
Pay attention to how a breath without smoke in it feels.
Feel the desire to smoke. Where do you feel it? What does it really feel like?
Smoke mindfully. Pay attention to each puff. Feel the smoke going into you.
Pay attention to the desire to smoke as you take your first puffs. When does it leave? Where does it go?
Pay attention to how a breath filled with smoke feels.
How does it really taste?
Watch your self as you smoke. What do you look like?
When you finish. Take a breath. How does it feel to breath after smoking?
Do this EVERY TIME YOU SMOKE!
Mindful smoking will help you to move away from the cigarettes and toward the choice of breath.
