Electronic cigarettes do not help: as we thought, to stop smoking.
Many are those who try to definitively abandon tobacco from traditional cigarette consumption to electronic version of them, however, a recent study notes that users of electronic cigarettes are less likely to quit smoking. The research analyzed different studies for To compare the effectiveness of tobacco cessation among users of electronic cigarettes and those who did not.
The results of the meta-analysis show that users of electronic cigarettes are 28% less likely to quit than those who do not use these devices.
In all studies included in the review the odds of quitting smoking were similar among users of electronic cigarettes and other factors did not modify the statistic either. Although the reason for this lesser success in quitting is unknown, perhaps those who use electronic devices, considered less harmful than traditional cigarettes, may be less likely to quit smoking than those who never go through their use. At least in this regard, studies continue to add evidence that electronic cigarettes do not help, as we thought, to quit smoking.
